Iran is claiming a British sailor admits she and fourteen other British troops when they were captured. An Iranian TV station airs the first video of -- attorney and some of the others today. The broadcast showed a letter signed -- which included the description of their arrest quoting here as "we have apparently gone into Iranian waters". The British defense ministry says it has proof that the captured service members never -- into Iranian waters.

A hostage drama has come to a peaceful end in the Philippines and thirty-one preschool children are now safe. They were released after spending more than eight hours on their school bus. The hostage taker owns the students' daycare center. He says he wants to call attention to education and housing problems in the country. He surrendered after talking to negotiators and media.

Well, senate democrats are pushing ahead. They are setting a timetable for withdrawing US troops. They resumed debate after narrowly beating back yesterday challenge by republican. GOP lawmakers want to streamline the deadline from the measure which funds the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the meantime, President Bush is pushing back. he says he will veto any measure that carries a timetable for withdrawal. He says tying withdrawal to funding will not force his hand.

The Associated Press is reporting that Shiite's militant and off duty police officers are accused of going on revenge killing spree in the Northern Iraqi town of -- for night. Senior police officials say the attacker gunned down dozens of Sunnis in retaliation for two truck bombings yesterday. A hospital official says the gunman killed at least 45 men. Police say the shooting continued for more than two hours until army troops arrived.

Huge plumes of smoke from a chemical fire in -- can be seen from miles away. Firefighters are letting the fire burning itself out because water mixed with chemicals involved could actually spread the flames. The chemical company that occupies the building says the fire broke out after a lightening struck the warehouse this morning. The blaze forced officials to evacuate the entire western half of the town which is as many as six hundred people.

A lawsuit has been filed against pet food maker Menu Foods. --'s cat -- died of a kidney failure just before Menu Foods announced a recall of tainted food. She's convinced her -- was killed by the food he was eating. So far, Menu Foods has confirmed sixteen pet deaths. But as was reported to yesterday, a nation wide organization of v--s now says that number top one hundred.
