某一种乐队在你身边始终只有少数人知道，类似秘密会社，成员加入的速度极为缓慢，社团始终打不响知名度。但你不特别担心社团停止成长或脚步停滞，每当与人谈起，你总是暗自窃喜，默默骄傲，甚至希望社团一直维持这种规模就好。
知道的人多了会降低它的神秘感。好东西要与更多人分享，这句话在秘密会社是不适用的。Kent就是这样一组乐队。
Kent始终是迷雾里的乐队，我们拨开好几层纱还是看不透他。来自瑞典，先天的语言屏障使Kent与英语系国家（或依赖英语信息的其它地区）总是处着隔阂。他们曾将两张专辑: Isola、Hagnesta Hill翻唱成英文版本，至于其它作品，包括最新专辑Du & Jag D?den都只有瑞典文版。官方网页也一概是瑞典文，我们很难深入了解什么。
但东拼西凑还是能理出一些简单脉络。Kent成立于1990年，主唱Joakim Berg与吉他手Sami Sirvio是学校旧识，乐队成立后陆续招兵买马，首张同名专辑只能算表现普通。但96年的第二张专辑Verkligen让事情产生了转机，这些带着浓浓Radiohead式The Bends氛围的音乐瞬间征服了瑞典，Kent终于踏入畅销乐队之林。02年发行的Vapen & Ammunition，光在北欧一地就售出了五十万张，相当惊人的数字。
　除了受到Radiohead影响，David Bowie与Depeche Mode也是Kent的重要精神食粮。Kent的音乐总是带着浓浓的英国味，许多人将他们归入Brit-Pop。但我始终以为他们的气质是其它英国乐队学不来的，Kent一向有自己的味道。
Du & Jag D?den是无懈可击的吉他摇滚唱片。英国本土的新进乐队不是专研花俏的节奏组或把吉他当成单纯的发声工具，已经少有乐队愿意将时间花在错落有致的吉他旋律上。Kent不是英国乐队，可他们却证明了Brit-Pop的某个面向依然能完美地再现。
Kent的音乐总能让人联想起黄昏、秋天的海滩、逝去的青春、久不见的朋友这些记忆里的往事。为何这些有着无法理解的歌词的音乐，却能不折不扣地打动你？仔细想想，实在是件神奇的事。
