Grammy winning group is considered what is the most successful R&B group of all time, selling an estimated, get this 60 million records. They’re dominated the charts with their classic Motown hits. And now, the boys are back. We’re so thrilled to be joined by Boys II Men today as well as their brand new album “Motown, A Journey through the Hitsville USA”. Thanks so much for being here.

Hello. Good to be here. * to be here. Yes, it is. Yes, it is.

So the album, it sounds fantastic, tell me about it coz it’s the classic? Why did you guys decide to do that?

Well, it was an idea that came to our management by actually a group of guys, who thinking about doing something like this, David Sumonie anda couple of other people. They actually came to management and said, “you know would the guy be interested in?’ When they came to the idea, we were like “Oh, it sounds like something to be very very interesting to do kind of a nostalgia, because we started all from Motown”. So, you now being back on Universal \ after taking a high recordly wistful many being independent. We came back to universal, and now we’re doing a Motown song. So it’s like a full-circle-type thing.

It’s great you guys coz you have been two decades in the business. So you have the ability to say, no, not the time. Would you wait? I know you guys, you know, stay together, and they seem to get along, do you really behind the scene?

Absolutely we get along, I mean just like any brotherhood or any family type or into situation, you know. We have ups and downs, we have problems you know, a little secrecies got we, you know kind of like Shawn, this guy is bugging right now. But in our actuality you know we love each other, we’re bothers. And the beautiful thing about it is the music that made us love each other. As long as the music is here, as long as we don’t be able to leave with each other.

Yes, the base tone of the real thing is not about we wanna a contrived group, we want a group that was made by some manager guy that sort of putting together, bunching, doing the same harmony, we put ourselves together. And it’s just like Wanya said it’s the music, we love the music that we mutually have, and that’s the tight binds.

And I have to ask coz you’re working with Randy Jackson, American idol fames also a Grammy winning producer. Tell me what was that like?

Well it was a great experience for all of us. We’ve known Randy for years, but we never have a chance to work with him, in this type of perfection. And when we came over with the idea for the album, we weren’t sure how we want to produce the actual music inside of it. But we came over with the idea to produce it all live, all live \ which is a great thing for us. And the listed producers we had kind of got narrowed down \ when we went that direction. Randy was the one who seemed to best for build for what we try to do. And he is just a great guy, I mean, he is a good dude, very insightful and he is very honest, and he is one of those guys you can bounce lots of ideas of. He’ll soon give you honest opinions. It was just a great relaxed atmosphere and nothing rush, we didn’t have … you know we didn’t have our back against the wall for time or whatever.\ We just went in, tried to follow the character of the songs \ we were singing. It was just a great atmosphere all together

Alright, and it comes through the album. You know I can’t let you go without asking for a little sample. Just sing a little, ok?

We’re gonna give a little sample, we actually re-did one of our old songs on the album, “End of the Road”. We did add a pallor with our good friend Brain, he helps me on the production on that part. So we just give you a little snippet.
