40 minutes and here is my essay
The speaker asserts that a government role is only limited to some big issues such as national defence and major infrastructure construction, and other services like education and health should be provided by private groups or individuals. Although this claim has some merits, I fundamentally disagree with that absurd assertion.
Firstly, I turn to the first half of the author's claim. A government role, as far as I am concerned, is far boarder than what is mentioned above. Admittedly, it is undeniable that in terms of defence capablity and local infrastrucure construction, the government plays a indispensible part, whether be it funding, planing, and organizing. Without the involvment of the government, the whole society would be a catastroph. But is that all the story? simply not. Other issues like education, health, social security also can not be removed from the government day-to-day agenda. These issues, relating to the quailty of citizen's life, should never be ignored by the government.
Secondly, I assume that leave all other services excpet the national defence and infrastructure to private groups or even individuals is utterly irresponsible. As we all know, private groups like companies or other organizations take every step only out of the interest of themsevles. They are profit-oriented. Also, services such as education, health, and social security are too far beyond their capacity. Without the support of the government, services like this could never be put into full play.
Lastly, the speaker fails to discover that currently nearly all sorts of services are supportted by both government and private groups, and the only difference between these two is just the percentage of fund which provide is bigger. [屏蔽] can fund the education just as private groups can support the construction of infrastructure. Public schools and some people named roads are good cases in that point. They are mutually inclusive.
To sum up, the support of services nowadays do not draw a clear line between government funding and private grounps' contrabution. Actually, each of them is equally crucial to the various kinds of services today.
