Separately, US-led forces said they killed 2 terrorists, detained 23 suspected insurgents, and destroyed a cache of explosives during operations today against Al Qaeda in Iraq, southwest of Tagi.

Palestinian security officials say Israeli forces arrested a cabinet minister of the Hamas-led Palestinian government in the Yaki occupied West Bank today. The officials say Wosfi Kabaha, a member of Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh's cabinet, was arrested before dawn in his home near the town of Geni.

Police in India say a bomb has exploded in a crowded market in northeastern / state, killing 7 people and wounding 20 others. A published report says Bush administration officials have issued strong objections to a proposed declaration on global warming to be issued during next month's group of 8 economic summit.
