Overlooking the Atlantic ocean in Benin, a majestic arch marks the point of ow-return ,well through the centuries millions of slavery wanitted in chains to be shopped to America ,But now modern-day form of slavery have gripped the west African nation again .

I just felt really burdened by the fact of the children are being taken into slavery .

Carmen Morris is a Florida businesswoman was honoured third visit to Benin ,she's honoured personnel mission to help end the human trafficking ,and build a sanctuary for those children ,some as young as five will be rescued by local police from their lives whch she calls slave labours .

The first trip we took 160 children were rescued from child slavery ,According to the UNICEF,the overall numbers are staggering ,1.2 million children are trafficking each year world-wide ,50 thousand of them are in Benni Alone ,Many are sold by their parents .

Poverty is the problem here in Benin as it is It is almost all of the Africa, it is poverty is fueling the slave trade ,forcing parents to sell their children to traffickers on purpose or inadvertently.

Trafficers will often swoop on the poor or remote villages offering money for the children ,or promising paying jobs in bog city like nearby Cotnu or Lagos Nigeria.

In Benni ,the children are put to work by local traders in and bustling markets ,selling everything from Soda to a local delicacy-barbecued bush rats.


Morris is determined to do what she can stop the circle ,sometimes the job is overwhelming .

You know ,you've been hearing the story for three years ,and ,and you just can’t stop feeling.”

And as the ground is broken under a new sanctuary from the lost children ,Carmen knows, she’ll be back.
