US Secretary of State C.R thanked S for repelling the attack,she said it was too early to who was respossible for the assault. S of the Asia Pacific foundation says the attack has some of Hamas or A,but there were other organiztions might be involved.

"We noted that head of S regime has allowed insurgents to cross backing force to attck coalition troops,it also has habored a lot H members in the past,we coan't rule the possibility out that H may have played a role in this."Witnesses say the gunmen shouted Islamic slogan as they tried to throw grenades over the embassy compound walls.

President Bush says the United States is safer now than when the terrorists attacked on 9.11th,2001,he says the nation is not immune now from new attacks. Mr Bush spoke to the nation Monday on the 5th anniversary of the attacks.

"America did not ask for this war,and every American wishes it would over ,so do I. But the war is not over,and it will not be over untill we or extremists emerge victorious."

Mr Bush also defended the war in Iraq,he said the regime of S.H posed a threat that the war could not ignore,he said the safty of the United States depends on the outcome of the battle in the street of Baghdad.

Iranian president M says he has offered to help Iraq bring its insurgency under control. At a news conference in T with visiting Iraqi prime minister N,Mr A said improve security in Iraq will enhance stability throughout the region.Mr M met with the Iranian president today at the beginning of a 2-day visit. US officials have said Iran is not doing enough to stop the flow of militants into Iraq. Meanwhile today in Baghdad,police say a car bomb explosion killed at least 6 people in an upscale district in the city. The Palestinian militant group Hamas says it is prepared to approve peace talks with Israel as part of a new unity government with a F party of president M. But a Hamas spokesman did not say the group is ready to recognize Israel's right to exist. He said the group would allow president A to conduct peace negociations with Israel.

The United States anti-drug chief has called for a strong military action by NATO forces to destroy the opium industry in southern A. Head of the UN office on drup and crime A told a news conference in B today profits from opium production are being used to fund terrorist activity.

Australia has sent 37 E refugees back home after their temperary visas expired. A group had fled E after the recent sectarian violence there and many of the returnees were sent home against their will. From Sydeny,F has a report.

"There were emotional scenes at darwin airport as the E marines bagan their short journey home. Many didn't want to go,they origionally saw refuge in Australia after violence broke out in the T capital Dili in May and being insisted they will not be safe back home. The violence earlier this year between soldiers from different parts of the tiny country,forced many Dili residents to flee their homes in panic. Tens of thousands of people are still living in makeshift camps,afraid to return home even though the political situation has stabilized. Australian,New zealand,Portugal and M sent soldiers and police officers to E after the violence bagen to help restore peace. The Australian government anounced Monday that they will be sending additional troops to add to the 1000 already there. The government says violence in Dili has now only sporadic however,and has insisted that E is safe enough for the refugees to return."

A court in western India has found 4 members of the family guilty of involvement in 1993 bombings in M that killed 257 people and wounded more than 700. A special court in M toady convicted 3 brothers of a Muslim family of committing terrorists acts and waging war against the country.
