It is estimated that over 400,000 thousands Americans every year die of smoking-related diseases, but kicking the habit is not so easy. A study finds that smokers who smoke (1) cigarettes could have more trouble trying to quit compared to people who use non(1) cigarettes. When the study began in 1985, 15,000 smokers had a medical exam answered questions about their smoking habits, 63 percent of the smokers said they prefered (1)cigarettes and these smokers who prefered (1) were less likely to have quitted smoking after 15 years, 69 percent of (1) smokers were still smoking when researchers asked again about smoking habits in the year 2000. Among people who had originally prefered non(1)cigarettes, 54 percent were still smoking in 2000. The researchers say that both (1) and non-(1) cigarettes are equally dangerous. That (1) cigarettes may actually be harder to quit.
