The United States has said to intend to submit resolution on Burma to the United Nations Security Council in the very near future. The Ameircan statement came after the Security Council discussed Burma officially for the first time. C M reports from the UN headquarters in New York.

At the beginning of this month, the United States made a formal request that the situation in Burma be placed on the agenda of the Security Council. It argued that Burma has become a threat to international peace and security.But of the destabilizing effective over human rights violations and flow of refugees and drugs to the rest of the region. Other countries on the Security Council disagree. China, in particular, and the American effort to push through a resolution could lead to bitter debate. The US is unlikely to act further until the UN 's Undersecretary General Ibraham B travels to Burma again, possibly in November. Amid strong objections from Mexico the United States Congress is moving towards giving final approval to the construction of a new border fense. The French politician Segolene Royal has officially entered the race to become France's next president by declaring her candidacy for the Socialist Party nomination. Russia has been evacuating some of its embassy staff and military personnel from Georgia after four Russian intelligence officers were charged with spying by Georgia. While the Russian officers were in court, two planes left from Moscow carrying Russian diplomatic staff and their families, the beginning of a wider evacuation.
