Some controversial moves here spilt out in the story in the New York Times this morning saying that Walmart is trying to get the most out of its 1.3 million person workforce. But is it playing fair？ The company is looking to get its employees to become more flexible, to get the employees to work at different times, changing shifts be available 247, basically critics are charging. Now, some of that obviously is completely fair, and it's about what you want to make in the employees be as productive as possible. Now some of the things though are more questionable according to newspapers. For instance, the paper says that Walmart is looking to make its workforce part time, have part timers fills 50% of its employment slides. The company says that's not the case, but does it acknowledge that part time workers make up for between 25 and 30 percent of the company's workforce up from 20% a year ago. There are also part of the story is that the company is looking a cap wedges at various employment level. So that you can get paid more unless you get promotion. Worker said this is just an effort to force out old hire paid workers and so here we have yet again back and forth between employees and Walmart and also unions that are looking to try to get into a Walmart. And unionized store and basically what's going on is that the unions are hearing this kind of information, using it and we have a drama played out on front pages of newspaper.
