Poet William Blake wrote these words about one of the most illusive mysterious and magnificent member of cat family,the tiger.

Tigers are the largest cat in the world.Their native only to Asia,and range from Siberia to China,India and Southeast Asia.

Male tigers are larger than females and can grow over 6 feet long and weigh more 500 pounds each tiger's stramps are unique,just like human's fingerprints.And while those stramps look very bright in the open,they actually blind in perfectly with dry grass and shadows,camouflaging the tiger when it hunts.

Tigers need 3 things in their habitat,prey animals,places to hide and water .Unlike most big cats,tigers are excellent swimmers.And even trace down prey in lakes or river.Hunts begin with the careful ambush.Tigers hide behind grass, bushes or trees,since spring when the prey gets close.

A tiger spends most of its day just resting.Clean off in the shade or a convenient pool. Natural loners,most tigers live and hunt just by themselves.They keep in touch with the neighbors by using their sense of smell.Spring,bushes and trees with the urine send the message about which tiger lives where.When two tigers do meet up,they often greet each other by rabin hats.

Female tigers usually give birth to two or three cub per litter.The cubs stay with their mothers for about two years,learning and then perfecting their hunting skills.If they survive to a daughter,tigers may live as long as 20 years in a while.

Today tigers are endangered animals.Experts estimate that 5000 to 7000 tigers survive in the wild.Their numbers have declined due to potures who hunt the cats for their skin and body parts.

Tigers also need plenty of room and suffer from the loss of their habitat to log in and development.

Researchers believe that tigers can survive in 21 century but only if their habitat..
