Amid intense speculation, Senator Barack Obama announced he's considering a 2008 presidential run. But the Illinois Democrat says he won't make a decision until after the November 7th midterm election. On NBC's “Meet the Press”, Obama said,"Given the response that I've been getting over the last several months, I thought about the possibility." Also Sunday, Obama dismissed claims he's not ready to run for the White House because of his limited experience in national politics. He said, "I'm not sure anyone is ready to be president before their president. I trust the judgment of the American people." And he went on to say, "Should I decide to run if I ever decide to run. I'll be confident that I'll be run through paces pretty good".

Obama burst onto the national scene after his widely acclaimed "Key Note Address" at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Since then, rumors have been swirling that he would make a run for the presidency. But Obama brushed to sign the speculation saying he was planning to serve a full six-year term in Congress.
