The United States government shut down one of its own websites following suggestions that it included information on how to build an atomic bomb. The website was set up in March to publish Iraqi documents captured during the Iraq War. From Washington here is Justin Webb.

The website contains a vast archives of Iraqi documents captured during the war. It was closed after the New York Times was asked about complaints from weapons experts and arms-control officials about some of the material on the site. A spokesman for John Negroponte,the Director of National Intelligence said access to the site has been suspended pending a review to ensure its content is appropriate for public viewing. According to the New York Times, officials at the International Atomic Energy Agency had privately protested last week to American officials. One diplomat told the paper, the agency's technical experts were shocked at the public disclosures on the website.

Police in Iraq say they've found bodies of more than eighty people in Baghdad over the past 36 hours. Officers said a number of the body showed signs of torture. Correspondent say many of those killed were likely to have been the victims of sectarian attacks while others could have been targeted by criminal gang seeking ransom.

The head of America's largest evangelical Christian Organization who resigned following allegations that he had homosexual affair with a self-confessed male prostitute has been speaking about the claims. The Reverend Ted Haggard who was a close relationship with the White House told the Denver television station that he had met the man from massage and he had bought the drug methamphetamine from him. He denied having same sex with the man or having taken the drug. From Washington, here is Adam Brooks.

Ted Haggard is known to millions of American Christians as Pastor Ted. A married father of five, he has been at the center of the evangelical Christian movement in America and he is known to be close to the Bush administration. But his downfall has been rapid and dramatic. A man named Mike Jones called a radio show in Colorado and said that Ted Haggard had paid him for gay sex many times over the last three years. He also said Mr. Haggard had taken drugs. Mr. Jones said he had wanted to expose Mr. Haggard, who has campaigned against same-sex marriage, as a hypocrite.

The Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that artificial obstacles ruin putting the way of his country's bid to join the European Union. The comments come days before the European commission is to publish a report or just expected to raise fresh concerns of Turkey's bid for EU membership.

Prime Minster Erdogan clearly does not agree his government reform agenda is sleeping .Speaking in Istanbul, he said he remained determined to push ahead his reforms. He stressed that joining the EU is still his strategic targets, good for Turkey, he said, for the EU and for the world. His comments came as the BBC obtained a highly critical draft report on Turkey's membership bid. It highlights a lack of any progress over Cyprus. Turkey is obliged to open its ports and harbours to Greek-Cyprian traffic by the end of this year.

Palestinian women in the Gaza strip have described how they helped a group of gunmen troops escape from the Israeli troops besieging them in a Mosque.One of the women told the BBC that they had forced their way past the Israeli soldiers into the Mosque in Beit Hanoun,and dressed the gunmen in women's clothe to help them escape. Israeli troops fired at the crowd of women but were unable to prevent the gunmen escaping. Two women were killed. Palestinian report say that in all at least 11 people were killed by the Israeli military in Gaza on Friday. The Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh has urged the world to shoulder what he called its responsibilities towards its people.

"This massacre has been perpetrated following a decision by the most senior Israeli leadership, therefore, we demand that the Arab world, the Muslim world and the international community pose and reflect on their responsibilities. Looking to their conscience, reflect on the killing of women ,children and the elderly, reflect on the siege and destructions. What's happening is a planned annihilation of the Palestinian people.”

The British Prime Minister Tony Blair and the Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel have stressed the importance of raising international awareness of the threat posed by climate change. Mr. Blair said there were signs that the United States was recognizing the importance of prompting clean energy.

1224 people with the surname Jones have congregated in the Welsh capital Cardiff, setting a new record for the largest gathering of individuals with the same family name. It beat a record set two years ago in Sweden by people named Norberg.
