Former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein has urged Iraqis to seek a national reconciliation two days after a court sentenced him to hang for crime against humanity. Israeli forces Tuesday ended military operation in the northern Gaza Strip and left more than 50 Palestinians dead.VOA's Jim Teeple reports from Jerusalem.
After a week of the heavist figthing in Gaza Strip that Israel disengaged from the terrotary last year, Israeli troops pulled out of the northern Gaza town Bei early Tuesday. Since last week the town of about 30,000 people has been a scene of continued embattle because armed Israeli units backed by combat aircraft and Palestinian militants. Much of the town was destroyed in the fighting.
