The British Prime Minister Tony Blair says his government intends to maintain Britain's nuclear arsenal by constructing a new generation of submarines to carry its trident missiles. Mr. Blair said the estimate cost of three new submarines will be at least 30 billion dollars. He told parliament it will be dangerous and unwise for Britain to give up its nuclear deterrent unilaterally.
