There has been a hostile reaction from the Hamas-led Palestinian government to news that it might have to face new elections. Speaking on the Iranian television, the Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh warnend that President Muhmoud Abbas's plan would heighten the crisis which is a reason over the continuing deadlock between Hamas and its main rival in the penetration of F movement. Mr. Haniyeh said that the new elections will be disrespectful to the Palestinian people who have voted for a Hamas government less than a year ago. The spokesman for Hamas IH said the move will be undemocratic.
"The Islamic Movement of Hamas condemns the idea of the \ to dismiss the Palestine parliament and have early presidential and parliamentary elections in an attempt to stage a coupe against the will of Hamas and that of the Palestinian people. The Palestinian people expressed their will during the last elections when they turned out to vote and elected Hamas."

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has warned fellow gulf leaders that unresolved conflicts have pushed the Arab world into a very volatile state. The King said events in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestinian territories have created a potentially explosive situation. He described the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians as a bloody tragedy and criticize the international community for standing by and not doing enough to end it.

There has been a sudden announcement in Bangladesh that the armed forces are deploying across the country to maintain law and order. A lateby statement from home ministry said the instruction had come from the President Iajuddin Ahmed who heads the interim government to ensure peaceful elections during next month. KD reports.
Bangladesh goes to the polls in just a few weeks and run-up to the elections has been filled with serous street protests and strikes. Thousands of demonstrators have been blocking traffic in the capital Dhaka to try to exert pressure on the government to carry out electoral reforms. Protesters have demanded that the electoral role is revised. Some opposition figures say it currently contains fake or duplicated names. They also want the electoral commission who they accused of political bias to be reformed before elections go ahead. The protest marches have not always been peaceful. Since late of October, at least 30 people have been killed and many injured in street clashes between rival political activists.

T Tiger Rebels say they have killed at least 30 Sri Lankan government soldiers in the northeast in the latest fighting. They also say the military has killed 15 civilians in two camps. The government has rejected both claims and said only two of its soldiers were killed and about 30 wounded.

Chadian government forces loyal to President Idriss Deby had \ a \ battle against rebels in eastern Chad close to the Sudanese border.
