Church bells from around the country told the memories of the victims of Monday’s massacre in Virginia Tech. today is unofficial day of mourning in Virginia. And across America communities have been urged to honor Virginia Tech’s dead and wounded while experts continues to pore over the gunman Chow S. H.’s writing and video. 32 people were killed in his shooting rampage.

A federal mine official says workers have found the body of one of the two missing miners at an open pit coalmine in west Maryland. The two were buried in a wall collapse on Tuesday. The officials say the body was found in a backhoe. The man was operating when the high wall gave way. There is no information yet on the other missing miner who was using a bulldozer.

A Tennessee preacher’s wife has been convicted of voluntarily manslaughter for shooting him to death. The prosecutor has asked Mary Winkler to be convicted of first-degree murder. She claimed her husband abused her. Winkler will be sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison and she could be released on her own after serving less than one third of that time. She will be sentence May 18th and will be free on bond until then.

New Jersey Governor John Corzine is still on a ventilator, but the hospital says he is less dependant on that this afternoon. The governor was seriously hurt in a crash last week. He was on the passenger in a SUV going 91 miles an hour. Corzine broke his thigh bone, 11 ribs, his breast bone and collarbone. He was not wearing his seat belt.

And Senator John McCain is getting some grief from some critics, who, he says, can’t take a joke. While campaigning a couple of days ago in South Caroline, he was asked a question about what to do about Iran, McCain broke into the Beach Boy’s melody *, but used the word * instead. The audience laughed, but McCain’s critics and political opponents are complaining.
