It’s been called single deadliest attack at US ground troops in Iraq in more a year. 9 Americans were killed, 20 were wounded. When the suicide car bomb obstructed their petrol base Northeast of Baghdad in the Diyaia Province. The area has been a site of intense fighting. An insurgent group that included Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack. The victims were all from 82th air b that base in / north of Carolina.

President Bush says he wouldn’t budget to again veto a funding bill that sets timetable for withdraw of US troops in Iraq. Mr. President says the measure is nothing more than political statement by Democratic leadership. Democrat said that they wouldn’t back down either but it’s unlikely they would get 2/3 majority to over right the President’s veto.

Pakistan’s / supreme court protestesr again today. It’s a legal battle resumed between President and Supreme Court chief justice. Thousands of layers and political activists demonstrated in SLB and other cities. President MS suspended the judge in March. The chief justice is contesting / decision. APN said the suspension was politically motivated.

Formal President George W Bush and Bill Clinton will lead the US delegation to the funeral of Boris Yeltsin. The formal Russian President will be buried tomorrow in Moscow. The / says there will be national day of morning in Russia. Yeltsin past away yesterday at the age of 76, reportedly from heart failure. He was Russia’s first democratically elected president.

British police say they have arrested 6 terror suspects in the series of raids in and around London. The man accused of inciting others to commit acts of terrorism overseas and raising funds for terror attacks. ABIZJ, an outspoken Islamic activist was reportedly among those arrested. Authority would not confirm that he / British secretary / online television last year. IZJ already faced charged of encouraging terrorism as he was arrested in February and then released unbound.

A House committee tries to determine whether the Food and Drug Administration can keep food supply safe.
