Bee movie is a new feature from Dream Works animation that stars Jerry Seinfeld as a bee named Barry B. Benson. Barry feels a little confined by life in the hive which is very regimented and *. So he flies the coop, I mean, the hive and ends up in Manhattan in Central Park. He meets a pretty florist named Vanessa played by Renée Zellweger and may have a rather peculiar but tasteful interspecies romance. There's a lot more going on in /Bee Movie. It turns into a court room drama. And as is often the case with animated movies these days, a sort of save the planet ecological fable having to do with honey and pollen and all of that.
But really what this movie is in an occasion for two things. One is some animated high-drinks. There are some great set pieces including the one where Barry stuck to a tennis ball. And also for some comedy, from Jerrry Seinfeld and a lot of his friends. The Dream Works formula is to pitch its animated movies both at kids and over their heads. And Bee Movie I think goes even further than Shrek Movie in pitching a lot of its humor and a lot of its writing, a lot of the dialogue to adults. Not there's anything been inappropriate but this just the way that Seinfeld tells his jokes is designed to appeal to fans of his old sitcoms who are of certain age and getting older everyday. The movie is best appreciated as a series of / jokes and wish rather than as a real story. It's a soft, fuzzy set tier and occasionally it has bit of stick.
