An Airbus A380 plane on Wednesday arrived in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong Province, second leg of its seven-day trial flight in China after Hong Kong last Saturday.

The plane with 555 seats, landed at Baiyun Airport of Guangzhou at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday and will fly to Beijing and Shanghai in the tour, according to sources with Airbus China Ltd.

Airbus A380 started trial flight on November 13 and arrived at airports in Singapore and Seoul on November 14 and 15 respectively. The trial flight is aimed to test its function and reliability in world major airports.

The final authentification is expected to be finished in the middle December after its last trial fight over South Africa, Canada, Australia, South Pole and North Pole.

Up to date, five Airbus A380 planes have successfully completed their trial flights and Airbus has received orders for 166 jets from 15 customers, including China Southern Airlines, which ordered five.

The world's biggest commercial plane, the Airbus A380, will land in Shanghai today, ready for a public showing tomorrow morning.

The city's airport authority said yesterday the plane would land at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 6pm.

The double-decker superjumbo, which can carry 555 passengers, is on a 17-day global test flight.

It visited Guangzhou, capital of southern China's Guangdong Province, yesterday and will fly into Beijing this morning before heading to Shanghai.

Airport officials said they had drafted emergency plans in cooperation with French manufacturer Airbus and China Eastern Airlines.

The airport will not use a double-entrance air bridge, as was used at Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou because no passengers are onboard, airport officials said.

But the airport will build two double-decker air bridges to serve the plane when it is put into operation, they said.

The plane will leave for Toulouse in France, where Airbuses headquarters are located, at 2pm tomorrow.
